Juventus have reportedly overtaken Napoli in the race to sign Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes.

Tuttosport reports that the Portugal international has been identified as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba should the Bianconeri star leave this summer.

Napoli have been linked with the 23-year-old since last summer, but the newspaper today writes that Juve have now moved ahead of the Partenopei in the race for Gomes.

The Turin outfit’s relationship with Valencia is good, but the midfielder is valued highly at around €35m.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United are also said to be interested and Gomes’ agent Jorge Mendes could prove to be crucial as the report warns he could point the player towards these clubs instead of Italy.
