Reports in Italy and Spain suggest that Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid are working on a friendly tournament in the USA in July and could involve Milan in the project.

Juve, Real and Barça are the main architects of the European Super League, a breakaway European competition launched one year ago and collapsed within 48 hours from its launch.

Tuttosport newspaper quotes sources in Spain saying that the three European giants are organising a friendly tournament in the United States at the end of July. Milan have also been invited to the competition.

ESPN had already reported in February that Juve, Real and Barcelona were preparing for a summer Super League in the USA before the start of the new campaign.

The Serie A season will begin shortly afterwards (August 13-14) and Serie A clubs could return to the USA between November and December for a friendly tournament during Qatar 2022.

Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid haven’t formally quit the Super League project yet and could face sanctions from UEFA after a Madrid court lifted the injunction imposed on the European football governing body.
