Juventus are reportedly in pole position to secure Massimiliano Allegri’s signature, but Inter are also pushing for the 53-year-old coach.

Today’s big question in the Italian sports pages regards the future of the former Bianconeri coach and La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights Allegri seems closer to a return to the Allianz Stadium.

The newspaper reports President Andrea Agnelli had previously offered him a two-year deal with an option for a third term worth €7m a year.

But the proposal has now been improved, as the Bianconeri are trying to fend off other possible suitors, offering a three-year deal with an option for a fourth and a salary between €8m and €9m a season.

Tuttosport also claims it’s likely the coach from Livorno will return to Turin, as Allegri and his representatives have shown their availability in the negotiations.

But Inter are still in the running, with Antonio Conte leaving his post at San Siro after having secured the Nerazzurri’s first Scudetto in 11 years.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports Beneamata CEO Beppe Moratta had dinner with the coach last night and the contacts will continue today.

Despite Juventus having an advantage, La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms Marotta is trying to surpass his former employer by offering Allegri €10m a season for three years.

Allegri seems set for a spectacular return to football, as he has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid too.

The former Juventus coach has not coached since he left Juventus in June 2019.
