Torino coach Ivan Juric celebrated a second consecutive victory, this time 2-1 away to Sampdoria, and wouldn’t stop the fans dreaming of European qualification. ‘It’s possible if we try.’

The Granata crushed Fiorentina 4-0 and today picked up another three points at Marassi thanks to headers from Wilfried Singo and Dennis Praet.

“We played a really great game. It’s true that we conceded on our error, but other than that the team was always concentrated and tough. We have been improving on a technical level lately,” said Juric in his press conference.

Goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic was making his comeback after COVID-19 and seemed shaky, as it was his poor clearance that allowed Francesco Caputo to score, then another error was only kept out by the Ricardo Rodriguez goal-line clearance.

“He had COVID and so far this season had been impeccable, but after a week of training, he’ll be back to normal.”

This is only the second time in the three points for a win era that Torino have managed over 30 points in the opening 21 rounds, the other being in 2013-14 when they had 32 points.

Fans are beginning to dream, especially with Mohamed Fares arriving from Genoa via Lazio on loan, so can Toro go for Europe?

“It’s possible if we try. We have to play every game at our best and then we’ll see. We wanted to get closer to the European places, we got closer, now we want to stay there for as long as possible.

“The club doesn’t have the purchase power on the transfer market of Fiorentina or Atalanta, but we can work on promising youngsters who can become part of the Torino future.”

  1. This coach, if Sarri wouldn’t be Lazios coach, I would’ve wanted him. He is truly improving any team he “touches” and if he gets Fahres to at least SPAL performances he is a Bloody footballGuru and likely gets Toro to sign him too.
