Ivan Juric wants to see gradual and consistent growth at Torino, both on and off the field, urging reinforcements after the 3-0 win over Sampdoria.

Serie A | Torino 3-0 Sampdoria: Dominant Granata

The Granata’s victory never really seemed to be in doubt, with goals from Dennis Praet against his old club, Wilfried Singo and Andrea Belotti, but there could easily have been more.

Belotti struck the woodwork and Simone Verdi had another goal chalked offside in the final minutes.

“I am very satisfied, as it was a tough and physical match, especially in the first half, but we loosened up after the second goal and started to create numerous opportunities,” Juric told Sky Sport Italia.

There was an upset during the warm-up, when Josip Brekalo pulled out with a muscular issue.

“It was only minor and we decided not to risk him, though Karol Linetty put in a great performance stepping in at the last minute.”

Torino have struggled in recent seasons, narrowly avoiding relegation, so Juric is taking any progress slowly.

“It’s a generational shift, we must be courageous to use younger players who are hungry. This season the aim is to regain credibility, to see Toro fight and give our all on the pitch. After that, we’ll see, but the team needs to grow on so many levels.”

The coach has made it clear he expects reinforcements in the January transfer window and appealed for help from the fans.

“The President is a Torino supporter and he is generous. We must convince him with our performances, then he certainly won’t hold back.”
