Ivan Juric hopes to ‘break the taboo’ of the Derby della Mole by giving Torino victory over Juventus for the first time in nine years.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).
Torino conceded nine goals in Juric’s editions of the Derby della Mole, with seven of them coming from dead ball situations.
So the coach was asked if he had picked players who are stronger in the air and how they can limit Juve’s capabilities on free kicks and corners.
“It is not easy to make choices like this, when we don’t manage to match them in terms of physicality and strength, we have to get there with our heart,” Juric told DAZN.
The coach is widely expected to leave at the end of this season and has never managed to beat Juventus on the Torino bench.
“What we are missing in these three years is a derby win and I hope to break that taboo this evening.”
Toro’s last victory against their arch-rivals Juventus was back in April 2015, followed by just four draws from the next 19 competitive encounters.
