Ivan Juric believes Torino ‘deserved more’ than Milan in the stalemate and explains he started this season in a ‘disastrous situation.’

The defences and goalkeepers won out over the forwards this evening at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, resulting in a 0-0 draw.

Having taken points off Juventus and Inter already in recent weeks, Toro did the same with Serie A leaders Milan.

“The team played very well, created chances to win in the second half against a side that I really liked at times. I admire the dynamism of their players and the tempo, but it was a real battle and I think if anything we deserved more,” Juric told DAZN.

The coach has complained his squad lacks quality and wants to improve that element in the transfer market.

“My players have strong physicality, they can handle the battle. We are working more on technique and quality, I saw improvements in our passing and attacking moves. There are many young lads in the squad who have much to learn.

“I think we are still missing a player who can unite the midfield with the attack, connect the lines. Dennis Praet could do that, but we lost him to injury.”

Juric has not yet committed his future to Torino after a debut campaign, but has already amassed more points than throughout all of last season.

“We started the season with everything in a disastrous situation. It was the end of an era, players who gave so much and had nothing more, finishing the last two campaigns with safety in the final game.

“It was not easy to build a new team from basically the same players, as we only really brought in two or three new faces.”
