Ivan Juric was furious with Torino after fumbling their lead against Lazio in stoppages. ‘We dominated the game and were suckers.’

The Granata had taken the lead through Marko Pjaca’s header and thought it would be a third straight win, but Koffi Djidji’s clumsy and unnecessary challenge on Vedat Muriqi allowed Ciro Immobile to convert a penalty for 1-1.

“We allowed Lazio practically nothing and dominated the game, but we were suckers at losing two points like that,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We can’t give away that type of advantage, it would’ve been our third straight clean sheet, too. It was a very good performance, but I am angry about the result and we’re still a long way off where we ought to be.”

Juric has certainly turned things around for Toro after a dismal start to the season, as they were coming off wins against Salernitana and Sassuolo.

“It’s more of a psychological issue than a physical one. This is a positive group that is hungry and wants to make up for recent disappointing seasons.

“This is a squad that conceded 140 goals over two years and only secured Serie A safety in the final rounds. If I signed a three-year contract here, it’s because I see potential that has not been expressed, but we are starting from a low point.”

  1. Didn’t get a chance to watch, but last year Torino loses this type of game. Instead, today they tied. So yes, they dropped 2 points, though it’s against a team that has been competitive for a while. Il Toro may actually be decent this year.
