Torino coach Ivan Juric assures he is ‘not thinking about anything’ other than his team amid Nottingham Forest rumours.

The Croatian tactician already impressed at Hellas Verona and it emerged this weekend that he was one of the candidates for the job in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.

“We are here and working for what is best for Toro. Everything else is just chatter and does not count,” assured Juric in his press conference when asked specifically about those Premier League links.

Yet he has said before that he can only take Torino so far without firm investment in bolstering the squad.

Juric even commented a few weeks ago that he could not take Toro any further than he already had, so is he looking for in a club right now?

“I don’t know, you can be improved by everything around you, because it is always a learning experience, challenging yourself,” replied the tactician.

“New experiences improve you and you can be opened up to different ideas. It also depends on who you have at your disposal in the squad.

“We are focused, tomorrow’s game means a lot in that sense and we are all concentrated. I am not thinking about anything else.”

Juric is one of four current Serie A coaches who were all part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s Genoa side in 2009, inspired to get into management by the current Atalanta boss and his ideas.

“I wouldn’t include Thiago Motta in that list, as he was influenced by many top coaches. I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect Thiago Motta to be a good coach, as he was completely mad. A great guy, of course, in football terms he changed me the most along with Diego Milito.

“It was the first time in my career that I had seem players of that calibre close up.”

Juric turned 47 in August and spent much of his playing career in Italy with Crotone from 2001-2006, then at Genoa until his eventual retirement in July 2010.
