Juric: ‘Belotti inexistent in away games’

Torino boss Ivan Juric says Andrea Belotti is ‘inexistent in away games’ and admits Ola Aina doesn’t play because he ‘hasn’t trained well.’

Belotti sees his contract expire at the end of the season and there are little chances that he’ll commit his future to the Granata by signing a new deal. The 28-year-old has been struggling with injuries this term, managing just four goals in 15 Serie A appearances.

“At home, he plays a certain kind of game, but away he is inexistent,” Juric said at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s away clash at Salernitana.

“I expect a different commitment in away games. Italy’s World Cup exit has been a massive blow for him. He can put in excellent performances, but also very negative ones. I want to see high-level performances in the last nine games, and we’ll see what happens with the contract extension.”

Ola Aina has also failed to impress lately, and Juric explained his recent lack of playing time: “He hasn’t trained well since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. We had worked a lot on him, he was extraordinary against Inter, but then he has never trained as he used to.”
