Torino coach Ivan Juric has to wait for the team doctor’s verdict before choosing his line-up against Inter, but is not over recent setbacks. ‘We have been penalised by referees.’

As if injuries weren’t bad enough, the Granata have also been affected by a flu outbreak, although the COVID tests have come back negative.

“Some players have recovered and some haven’t,” explained Juric in his press conference.

“Bremer, Lukic and Rodriguez are ready to play, Sanabria needs to be evaluated, while I think Zima is out. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic had a fever too, but his hand is still injured, so Berisha remains in goal.”

Toro have struggled to make their mark against the big clubs so far this season and the coach is eager to change that against reigning champions Inter.

“We did well against Juventus, but to win these games we need a great defensive performance and more precision in our passing. Plus a bit of luck, because lately the opposition goalkeepers have got everything, otherwise the woodwork denied us.”

When he talks about luck, Juric is very clear in saying he also means with the referees.

“From the goal with Venezia to Bologna, some strange things have happened and we have been penalised by referees. There’s nothing we can do about it, we just have to keep calm and carry on.

“I get the feeling we’ve done good things, but haven’t completed the job. We are missing that extra step.”
