“I feel helpless,” the goalkeeper told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “The crisis at Inter is making me suffer a lot.

“After the defeat to Napoli on Sunday I didn’t sleep at all. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.”

The Beneamata seemed to get their campaign back on track with a run of seven straight wins in the League, until their latest collapse in form.

“We could not have suddenly forgotten how to play,” the Brazilian added. “It is hard to find a reason behind these nightmare results. I can’t find one.

“That makes me believe that the season isn’t over yet. We can still overturn the 1-0 deficit in the Champions League game against Marseille and we can still climb the table.”

Inter are presently seventh on the ladder, nine points away from the last Champions League spot.
