There were already reports in the Corriere dello Sport this morning that Roma were joining the race for Icardi, as he seems reticent for Napoli and Inter don’t want to sell to Juventus for under €70m.
However, Roma are hoping to use Inter’s determination to sign Edin Dzeko as part of an exchange deal.
Giallorossi defender Juan Jesus hinted as much with a comment on Icardi’s Instagram page.
“I’m waiting for you…” wrote the former Inter centre-back with emojis of the red and yellow club colours, as well as the Roma symbol of a wolf.
