Juan Jesus on Napoli role and Mazzarri changes

Juan Jesus reveals how he is adapting to a left-back role for Napoli, why Walter Mazzarri has not changed and which teammate is most ‘fired up’ to face Real Madrid.

The Champions League trip to Real Madrid kicks off at the Bernabeu at 20.00 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from this game and Benfica-Inter on the LIVEBLOG.

“It is not entirely new for me to play as a left-back. I have a good rapport with Mazzarri too, as we worked together at Inter,” the Brazilian told Amazon Prime Italia.

“I am at the disposal of the team in a wonderful Champions League fixture. We need to enjoy our football and play well.”

Considering Mazzarri has returned to Napoli after a decade away, and his experience with Juan Jesus at Inter too, has the coach changed over the years?

“He is still the same, has the same grit. He really helped out straight away, now we are calm and what matters is that we play well.

“Napoli must have no fear, but respect. It is 11 against 11, they are Real Madrid and have great history, we must have our say and play on even terms.”

Juan Jesus was asked which of his teammates seems like he simply cannot wait for this game to get started at the Bernabeu.

“Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is the most fired up.”

Real Madrid have already qualified for the Round of 16 and need only one point to be sure of top spot.

Napoli can qualify this evening with a victory, or a draw as long as SC Braga do not beat Union Berlin.

Even a defeat could be enough if Braga are beaten by the Bundesliga side.
