Luka Jovic has scored five goals in his last six appearances for Milan, so the Rossoneri are no longer in a hurry to sign a new centre-forward including Aston Villa‘s Jhon Duran.
The Colombia international has been offered to the Serie A giants for January, but the Rossoneri may no longer need a new striker this month.
Summer signing Jovic, in fact, has become increasingly reliable for Stefano Pioli with five goals in his latest six appearances across all competitions.
The former Real Madrid and Fiorentina striker found the net against Frosinone, Atalanta and Salernitana in Serie A in December and scored a brace against Cagliari in Coppa Italia on Tuesday night.
Sky Sport Italia reports Jovic’s impressive goal-scoring form means the Rossoneri are no longer in a hurry to sign a new striker in January.
The Italian broadcasters also explain the reasons behind Jovic’s recent improvements saying that the 26-year-old wasn’t fully fit when he joined the Serie A giants from Fiorentina last summer.
He was not part of the Tuscans’ project so he hadn’t trained properly during the summer. Jovic signed for Milan on the deadline day but only played 319 minutes in the opening three months at San Siro, without finding the net.
He has gradually lost weight and his shape has improved over the last few weeks, helping him find the net five times in the last 257 minutes played with the Rossoneri.
