According to Sky Sport Italia, Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic will join Fiorentina on a free transfer and will land in Florence this week.

The Serbia international was supposed to move to Tuscany on loan from the Merengues, but according to Sky Sport Italia, the Serie A side managed to secure the striker’s signing almost for free.

Jovic will be in Florence on Saturday 9 and will sign a two-year deal with the Tuscans. Clubs’ directors are completing paperwork as we write, according to the report.

Jovic will receive a payout from Real Madrid and earn €2.5m per season in Florence until 2024. He will have an option to extend his stay for two more years, getting €5m per season.

Real Madrid will own 50% of any future sale of the striker in the next two years.

Jovic joined Real Madrid for a reported €65m fee in 2019 but failed to justify his price tag at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring just three goals in 47 games.

3 thought on “Jovic set for permanent Fiorentina move from Real Madrid”
  1. Jovic will be a fine addition to Serie A next season. He is still young and could be a sensation at Fiorentina. Looking forward to seeing him play regularly.

  2. bouncing back from failures and working hard are what got Jovic to Real Madrid, and he will knuckle down and do it again at another club. I’m actually astonished that clubs with deeper pockets haven’t show interest. At only 24, he has many years ahead of him.

  3. Whether or not he makes an impact in Florence is still to be seen, but for all of those who only a few months back were talking about how those at the club could not do a deal to save their lives, this shows they can be tough and get a great deal when the circumstances are right.
