Stevan Jovetic says this is only the beginning after Inter's two wins: 'I'll reach top in two months'.

The Nerazzurri owe their first place in the standings to two last-minute winners by the Montenegrin, who could barely hold back his satisfaction after the 2-1 win over Carpi.

“Even I didn't think I'd do this well, though I'll need another two months to really reach my best condition,” he said, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Today we did well in the first half but we declined in the second. Carpi deserved the draw even though we found the strength to come back and score another goal.

Jovetic was given little playing time last season by his previous club Manchester City, but he feels no sense of vindication.

“This isn't a message for City, I'm happy they're doing well too and I'm pleased about [Edin] Dzeko's goal [against Juventus].

“[Ivan] Perisic? He'll lend us a great hand.”
