The striker’s first season in the Premier League was plagued by injuries, and with a place in the starting XI seemingly out of reach, there had been rumours circulating that the Nerazzurri could bid for his services this summer.

However, the youngster has indicated that is not the case as he wants to fight for a start at the Etihad.

“I want to stay at Manchester City,” he is reported as saying by Andalou. “My first season was just unlucky.

“I was unfortunate with the injuries that prevented me playing with any sort of regularity.

“I have to prove myself in this team, so I’m not going anywhere.”
