Stevan Jovetic reveals he could have joined Marseille when leaving Inter, but chose Monaco “for the Champions League”.
The forward joined the Monegasques toward the end of the summer transfer window, and was officially presented in the principality today.
“I also had an offer from Marseille,” Jovetic said.
“I came here for the Champions League and also because of the fact Monaco were champions last season. I’m very happy to be part of this squad.

“Marseille President Jacques-Henri Eyraud? We arrived at the same time, we were in the same helicopter and he asked me why I had chosen Monaco.
“My last few seasons have been a bit difficult but I played in the last six months [at Sevilla] and that helped me a lot.
“I’ve also played for the national team so I feel good now.”
