Joao Santos, the agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, confirmed the arrival of a contract renewal offer and touched on the possibility of making a return to Napoli.
The 31-year-old Italian-Brazilian’s contract expires with the Blues at the end of this season, pushing the Premier League club to action. Jorginho has been linked with a variety of clubs ahead of the January transfer window, with teams ranging from Newcastle United to Juventus and Barcelona all keen on the Euro 2020 winner.
Speaking to TMW, Joao Santos discussed Jorginho’s future, the contract offer from Chelsea and the possibility of a Napoli return.
“Jorginho is expiring on June 30, we have a renewal offer and we’ll give priority to Chelsea. Naples represented our home in Italy, Giuntoli really appreciates the player, for us it’s a special place.
“If there was a new interest we’d be happy, however, at the moment Napoli has not had any contact with us.”
Jorginho previously spent four and a half years of his career with Napoli, joining in January 2014 from Hellas Verona for €9.5m and leaving in July 2018 to Chelsea for €57m.
During his time in the Campania capital, the Italian-Brazilian made 160 appearances across all competitions and helped the side win both the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.
