Chelsea midfielder Jorginho scored two penalties against Malmö FF in the Champions League, without jumping before the finish.

The Brazilian-born Italy international missed a penalty in the World Cup Qualifier against Switzerland and then admitted it has become more difficult for him to score from the spot.

“The goalkeepers are studying me, so I will do the same with them, I’m already thinking about the next one,” Jorginho told Rai Sport after the draw with Switzerland.

But the Chelsea midfielder was confident in his stride against Swedish side Malmö FF in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Blues picked up a 4-0 win and sit second in Group H, behind Juventus, but the famous ‘hop’ before the penalty was gone.

He was known for jumping before striking the ball, but yesterday he converted both penalties without the technical move.

  1. I saw both PK’s and noticed the modification.

Both were fairly central and to the GK’s right. Half-way in height in the goal. But with power.

Important to for next months crucial WCQ’fiers. Especially facing Yann Sommer again after being Saved in September.

It will still rely on the Keeper moving first, however.

For the Switzerland match, if we get a PK, I would prefer Bonucci or if he’s playing, Bernadeschi to take it. Might be a mental block with Jorgi against Sommer.

  2. Yes, such a special snowflake Jorginho is…

Boy, all the other people are lazy, and no one else works hard to keep themselves at the top of their game.

    Anything else?
