Reports are gathering steam that Maurizio Sarri wants a reunion with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho at Juventus, as Miralem Pjanic is closer to Barcelona.

The Italy international has said he wants to continue winning over the fans who had been dubious about him at Stamford Bridge, but a return to Serie A would also be tempting.

He worked with Sarri at Napoli, following him to Chelsea, and would seem to be a natural replacement for Pjanic, who has struggled to get to grips with the tactician’s approach.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pjanic is open to joining Barcelona in a move that would suit all parties, but it depends entirely on getting players who will go the other way.

So far, first choice Arthur Melo has refused to leave Camp Nou, while Juventus are unable to decide on the other options who could be included.

Calciomercato.com claim Chelsea are asking for €40m in order to part with Jorginho, having paid €57m to sign him from Napoli in the summer of 2018.

It’s possible there will be a double deal involving the two clubs, as Jorginho could make the move along with full-back Emerson Palmieri.

Juve have said they are eager to use exchanges to keep the cost of operations down in future, so they have several players that Chelsea are interested in.

Those include Pjanic, Adrien Rabiot and above all Alex Sandro.
