Jorginho is expected to start for Italy against North Macedonia tonight, but his agent again confirms the Chelsea midfielder ‘is always’ eager for a return to Serie A.

The Azzurri host North Macedonia in the World Cup play-off semi-final this evening in Palermo, kicking off at 19.45 GMT.

Agent Joao Santos had already commented yesterday that a Serie A comeback was more than welcome after his experiences at Verona and Napoli.

He spoke to Qui Studio a Voi Stadio this afternoon and again left the door wide open for this summer.

“Chelsea’s philosophy is to do contract renewals at the last minute. The priority is to renew with the Blues, otherwise he will return to Serie A.

“The desire to come back and play in Italy is always there.”

Joao Santos was asked specifically if there was any possibility of a Juventus transfer.

“They would be taken into consideration.”

Jorginho’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs to June 2023 and so far this season he has made 38 competitive appearances, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.

Along with Juventus, Milan have also been linked with a potential swoop for the 30-year-old Brazil-born midfielder.

He joined Chelsea from Napoli for €57m plus bonuses in the summer of 2018.
