After Paulo Fonseca, it’s now reported Cagliari striker Joao Pedro has also rejected a move to MLS club Atlanta United.
The Major League Soccer side seem eager to shop in Serie A, but are finding it difficult to convince anyone into the move stateside.
They had already approached former Roma coach Fonseca, who called off negotiations for a three-and-a-half-season contract today.
Now Sky Sport Italia and transfer reporter Nicolò Schira insist Joao Pedro has turned down a possible transfer to Atlanta too.
Cagliari had been in talks with the offer on the table of circa €12m, with the Brazilian given a contract worth €3.5m per season until 2024.
However, Joao Pedro and Cagliari both considered the proposal unsatisfactory and he will probably now extend his contract with the Sardinians.
The 29-year-old is under contract until June 2023, but had his most prolific ever Serie A season, finding the net 16 times in 37 games.
