There were two representatives of Jiangsu at the Trigoria training ground today, accompanied by Roma director Walter Sabatini.

Sky Sport Italia report they were presenting an improved offer for Gervinho, going from €10m up to €13m.

The Ivorian striker is eager for a move after his mentor Rudi Garcia was sacked to make way for Luciano Spalletti.

“We consider Gervinho to be a very important player for us, but in my view it is equally important that he wants to put his body, quality, mind and heart at the disposal of Roma,” said Spalletti in today’s Press conference.

“If he doesn’t do that, then we’ll go beyond him to see others with similar characteristics.”

As for Doumbia, he returned from a loan spell at CSKA Moscow and is not part of Roma’s plans.

He is of interest to several Premier League clubs, but Jiangsu are said to be offering more money.
