The Ligue 1 giants would prefer a permanent sale to recoup some of the €25m they paid to sign him from Real Madrid last summer.

Sportitalia maintain the Spanish player is not happy at the idea of joining Fiorentina and believes the Premier League is better suited to his characteristics.

He spent the last six months on loan at Las Palmas in La Liga.
