Olivier Giroud is continuing to shine for Milan and France and has no plans of stopping any time soon, his wife Jennifer admits.

The 36-year-old Rossoneri forward is playing an important role for Didier Deschamps’ squad at the World Cup in Qatar, scoring three goals in three appearances. Giroud has been key for Stefano Pioli and Milan since his arrival last year and this campaign his reliability has been vital in their quest to defend their Scudetto.

Speaking to Le Figaro, Giroud’s wife Jennifer discussed her husband’s work with France at the World Cup and his plans for the future.

“For Olivier, to have surpassed Henry is an honour, something to be proud of. His path deserves respect. After all these years, I am still impressed by his resilience. 

“He has a kid’s mentality and pays attention to everything to maintain his physique. Football is his life, he will still be talked about for a long time. He will play until he is 40, like Ibrahimovic.”

The 36-year-old Giroud became France’s all time top scorer after netting his 52nd goal for the national team in their Round of 16 clash with Poland at the World Cup, overtaking previous record holder Thierry Henry.

This season, the French veteran has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 19 appearances across all competitions for Milan.
