Jackson Martinez has decided to leave Guangzhou Evergrande and his agent noted “Juventus would be a fantastic option.”

The Colombia international made a shock move to China for €42m in February, but already the novelty appears to have worn off.

“For the moment we have not received any formal offer, but I am in Europe to work towards a return here,” agent Henrique Pompeo told Calciomercato.com.

The Colombia international made a shock move to China for €42m in February, but already the novelty appears to have worn off.

“For the moment we have not received any formal offer, but I am in Europe to work towards a return here,” agent Henrique Pompeo told Calciomercato.com.

“Jackson is very grateful to his club, but has decided to come back to Europe. We are seeking a solution that won’t damage Guangzhou, who made an important investment to bring him to China.

“I will not deny that Serie A is one of the Leagues that Jackson most prefers. He’d be enthusiastic at the idea of measuring himself up against Serie A defenders. We’ll see, for the moment there are only rumours.”

Martinez had been very close to joining Milan before he opted for Guangzhou.

“Last summer Jackson was an objective for the club, but I don’t know if he still is. We are just waiting for the call.”

Juventus have now been linked and the agent is very enthusiastic at this idea.

“We have heard about Juventus interest and that would be a fantastic option. Juventus have been dominating Serie A for years and are one of the best clubs in the world.

“They have not contacted me personally, so we’ll wait and see. We are not accustomed to this sort of situation, as we just need to wait.”
