Ten have been arrested as a Serie B match-fixing scandal erupts, while Genoa’s Armando Izzo is under investigation for colluding with the Mafia.
La Repubblica reports that the Naples police arrested 10 people this morning from the ‘Vanella Grassi’ Camorra group following an investigation by the anti-mafia investigative agency into betting activity on Serie B matches.
The police have discovered that some matches from the 2013/14 Serie B season were altered by the group.

Genoa and Italy defender Armando Izzo is being investigated for collusion with the Mafia group, along with Acireale midfielder Francesco Millesi and former player Luca Pini.
All three are under investigation for associating with the Mafia over two matches that the Naples anti-mafia investigative agency suspect were subjects of sporting fraud.
The first is Modena vs Avellino on 17 March 2014 and the second is Avellino vs Reggina on 25 May of the same year.
The investigators believe Izzo may have been used as a contact, as the criminal group offered large sums of money to corrupt Serie B players and directly influence the two games.
The results of the two matches in question were Modena 1-0 Avellino and Avellino 3-0 Reggina.
Izzo moved to Genoa from Avellino in the summer of 2014 after helping the team from Campania to an 11th place finish.
