Roma legend Roberto Pruzzo believes the Giallorossi’s games should be refereed by officials outside the Italian federation and feels there is a ‘war’ between the club and referees.

The former striker spoke to RadioRadio on Monday, in the aftermath of Roma’s 1-0 loss against Lazio in the derby della Capitale.

The Giallorossi had two players sent off, Roger Ibanez after just 32 minutes and Bryan Cristante in the stoppages.

Lazio’s Adam Marusic was also given a red card and the same is true for one staff member each for the two sides.

Pruzzo blamed referee Davide Massa saying, “Roma must ask to have their games refereed by officials outside the Italian federation.

“On Sunday, Roma players received a yellow card after every foul, and Lazio had a yellow card once every five fouls. It’s a war between Roma and the referees.”

It was a fiery game at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday and even saw Lazio President Claudio Lotito and Roma boss José Mourinho clash inside the dressing room after the final whistle.

Lazio have climbed to the second spot in Serie A, overtaking Inter who lost 1-0 against Juventus on Sunday night.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have won both Derby Della Capitale this season and have five points more than their city rivals, just outside the top four.
