Hungary coach Marco Rossi believes Atalanta are the favourite to win the Serie A title and reveals Attila Szalai’s move from Fenerbache to Chelsea is a done deal.
Rossi spoke to Calciomercato.com after an event at Circolo della Stampa in Turin.
Born in Druento, close to Turin, Rossi is a former defender and the current head coach of Hungary.
“When I come here, I visit my mum and my brothers, so I have many memories, there is the nostalgia of when I had your age,” he said smiling, as quoted by Cristiano Corbo.
“However, I don’t miss Italian football. I follow it, especially Torino, Juventus and Sampdoria. There are many good coaches and the league is very competitive.”

So, who is the favourite to win the title?
“I see Atalanta are the big favourite. They play well and over the last few years, they’ve always reached their peak in the second part of the season.
“It will be tough for Juventus to qualify for the Champions League. They had a bad start, there must be problems that we don’t know, but Allegri is a good coach and we can expect anything.”
Rossi named a Hungarian starlet who could be suitable for Serie A, although he is on the verge of joining Chelsea.
“It’s hard to name just one player, but right now I see very well Attila Szalai, who plays for Fenerbache, but I think he is joining Chelsea.
“Clearly, he has been followed by important clubs in Spain, but apparently his move to Chelsea is a done deal. It would be a great player also for Italian football.”
Rossi’s Hungary failed to qualify for the World Cup, finishing fourth in Group I behind England, Poland and Albania.
They managed to pick up draws against Germany and France during the Euros last summer, but lost the last group stage game against Portugal 3-0.
Rossi was appointed Hungary coach in June 2018. He has won 18 of his 39 games in charge of the Hungarians, drawing eight and losing 13.
