Italy international midfielder Jorginho could potentially remain in the Premier League by leaving Chelsea for Newcastle United.

The former Hellas Verona and Napoli star has repeatedly been linked with a return to Serie A, above all to Juventus or a reunion with his old coach Maurizio Sarri at Lazio.

His contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of this season, meaning he can be a free agent in the summer.

However, Sky Sport Italia claim that he might not hold off that long and already be on the move to Newcastle United in January.

That would then allow Chelsea to go all-in with their offer of over €100m for Benfica and Argentina hero Enzo Fernandez.

Jorginho has been in England since following his Napoli coach Sarri to Chelsea in 2018 at a cost of €57m.

Now 31, the Italy international has made 20 club appearances this season, scoring three goals.

  1. I was never comfortable with the fact that Italy had foreign born players, or any other National team for that matter. Would it not be a much fairer system to only allow players to represent the country of their birth.

  2. He was in Italy since age 15. Italy contributed to his developement. Much longer than Camoranesi who helped us in Win in 2006.

  3. I SHOULD remember him as a player that helped us win the European Championships. Instead, sadly, I will remember him for directly costing Italy qualification for 2022. Bonucci should have taken that PK in Rome.

  4. Newcastle have more chance of winning a CL than Newcastle B, better known as the Wendy’s drive thru of Europe. I agree, foreigners should never represent Italy. Traditions matter. One of the most racist countries on earth if not the most deserves only pure vino.

  5. please quit the national team. stay in England please never come back to Italy.
@Brandon he nearly cost Italy the Euro Championship…then went on to miss 2 more very important pks…ya know the rest.

  6. Italy are certainly not. No chance.

Current players like Willy Gnonto, Destiny Udogie, Caleb Okoli would chose their “other” team if that were the case. Stands to reason, no?

  7. In years past, Mario Balotelli only wanted Italy and not Ghana. Nobody loves the Italy shirt more than Mario.

  8. Marrko,

He’s being weeded out and he knows it. Mancio probably even had a talk with him about it. He’s on the wrong side of 30. He wasn’t called last callups in the Friendlies versus Albania and Austria.
