Italy have completed their final training session of the week, whilst there was a more positive reception from supporters for Mario Balotelli.

The Milan man was reported as having had a small group of young men should racist abuse at him during yesterday’s morning training session at Coverciano, where Cesare Prandelli’s provisional World Cup squad have begun their tournament preparations.

On from this, Balotelli was the subject of some applause and chants from a dozen children present at Thursday morning’s workout, guests of the Italian Football Federation. The 23-year-old responded with a greeting and smile back.

The group underwent further physical work today with running at an alternating pace, some work in the gym and exercises using a cryosauna, which replicates the same weather conditions that will be encountered in Brazil this summer.

The players will now break for a few days before gathering back at Coverciano on Sunday evening. Next week the team will train every day ahead of flying out to London on Friday May 30 for the next day’s friendly with Republic of Ireland at Craven Cottage.
