Mateo Retegui will lead Italy’s attack in an international friendly against Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey with Jorginho and Bryan Cristante expected to start in central midfield.

It kicks off at 21:00 CET at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna.

Italy CT Luciano Spalletti named four guaranteed starters during a press conference on Monday, saying that Guglielmo Vicario, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Riccardo Orsolini and Retegui would feature in the starting XI.

Gianluca Scamacca arrived in Coverciano on Monday as his season with Atalanta ended on June 2 in a rescheduled Serie A fixture against Fiorentina.

Spalletti is expected to switch to a four-man defence tonight with Di Lorenzo, Gianluca Mancini, Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco at the back.

However, it can easily become a three-man defence with Di Lorenzo, Mancini and Bastoni at the back.

Spalletti said in his first press conference before Euro 2024 that Italy would defend with four men and build up with a three-man defence.

Aside from Montella, Turkey have other familiar faces for Serie A fans, including Juventus starlet Kenan Yildiz and Inter ace Hakan Calhanoglu.
