The FIGC might decide to move the match scheduled at the Olimpico between Italy and Switzerland to a different venue, due to worries about the condition of the pitch.

News agency ANSA reveals the stadium in the stadium in the Italian capital will host a rugby match between Italy and New Zealand on Saturday, November 6.

The important match between Italy and Switzerland is scheduled for November 12, but the report claims it might be moved to a different venue, as the FIGC are worried about the conditions of the pitch.

Lazio’s home game against Salernitana on Sunday, November 7, could also be staged elsewhere.

  1. Why don’t they move the rugby match to another venue? What is more is more important, a rugby match that Italy will be thrashed in, or qualification for the World Cup? Come on FIGC, Wake up!!!

  2. Good point Tony. Makes sense for sure.

Sadly it may depend on who is renting the venue for more from the INOC/Italian National Olympic Committee (owners of the Olimpico). Perhaps the rugby is a high revenue one off and calcio is shown the exit on this occasion.

  3. Prioritizing a rugby that Italy will be trashed to an important match for world cup….these guys are confused

  4. Why do we even play rugby. We are rubbish for a start and lets be honest it’s a rubbish sport too.
I mean who cares to watch a bunch of grown men chase a giant egg around and hump each other in the process. Leave rugby to England, wales and scotland

  5. Anywhere but San Siro , they should never play there again after that disgusting display by the fans against Spain on Wednesday. Had we played anywhere else I believe the game would have been played better by us .

  6. Thank you Nick for making that point.
If the game is actually moved because of prioritising money then it will be a disgraceful act. Money, rugby, either or both do not rate higher than Italy’s qualification for the World Cup!

  7. The FIGC could move the qualification match to the Allianz Areana in Torino, to Bergamo, or the Stadio Maradona in Napoli.

Or…have the Sports Ministry move the rugby match.

  8. Fabrizio Perciballi – Good talk, as long as you keep coming to San-Siro with that goalkeeper you are going to witness the same hostile over and over and over again, if you like take the national team to Pascara Stadium , your choice.

  9. NAPOLI!!!!!
Every visiting team (club or national) find it difficult to play in front of the passionate Napoletane!!!

  10. Besides, don’t they use Flaminio for rugby when in Rome?

IDIOTS ! The National Football Team trumps all other national teams.

Also, save your time. The All-Blacks are going to win easily anyways.

  11. Napoli ? no thank you… 1990 will never be forgotten… I;ll bet those louses will rot for Argentina when they play that upcoming friendly…
