Italy players are celebrating their win over Austria on social media: ‘We never give up.’

The Azzurri booked their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 thanks to a 2-1 win over Austria at Wembley.

Roberto Mancini’s men needed extra time to win the game thanks to goals from Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina, who had come off the bench in the second half.

Leonardo Spinazzola was involved in both goals and was named MVP by UEFA.

Coach Mancini celebrated Italy’s goals hugging Gianluca Vialli on the sidelines, and posted a picture with the former Chelsea striker on Twitter to celebrate the Azzurri’s win.”We wanted it, we won it and now let’s all hug together,” Mancini wrote on Twitter.

Leonardo Bonucci, Jorginho and Francesco Acerbi were the first players to celebrate the Azzurri’s achievement on social media.

Italy will play the quarter-finals at Munich’s Allianz Arena against Belgium or Portugal on Friday, July 2.
