Raffaella Carrà’s song ‘A far l’amore comincia tu’ will be played at Wembley during the warm-up of Italy vs. Spain to pay tribute to the Italian showgirl who died on Monday.

Carrà’s long-term partner Sergio Japino, announced the death of the Italian showgirl and singer on Monday and revealed she had been fighting against an illness for a while.

He was one of Italy’s most iconic figures and was very popular in Spain as well, so much so Marca paid tribute to her with their front page on the morning of the game between the Azzurri and La Roja.

“To honour her memory, the FIGC have requested that UEFA put  ‘A far l’amore comincia tu’, one of her best known and most-loved songs, in the playlist used during the warm-up tonight. Italy face Spain in the semi-final of the Euros at Wembley Stadium,” the FIGC announced.

“The loss of an icon like Raffaella Carrà, who was an innovative woman and an extraordinary artist, has touched all of us deeply,” added FIGC President Gabriele Gravina.

“Before tonight’s game, we want to remember her with joy, listening to some of her upbeat, energetic music.”
