Italy tested a starting XI with seven changes ahead of tomorrow’s final Euro 2020 group game against Wales, including Marco Verratti, Bryan Cristante and Matteo Pessina.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

The Azzurri already qualified for the Round of 16, but need a point to guarantee top spot in Group A.

Roberto Mancini said he would make some changes to the line-up, some forced, as Giorgio Chiellini is out of action with a muscular issue.

According to RAI Sport, the XI they tested in training this evening had seven changes from the side that beat Switzerland 3-0.

Mancini already confirmed in his press conference earlier today that Verratti will not only get his Euro 2020 debut, but be in the starting XI after recovering from a knee problem.

He’s not the only change, as Cristante was also tested in place of Nicolò Barella, with the entire front three potentially transformed.

Federico Chiesa had been expected to start, but instead Italy tried out Federico Bernardeschi, Andrea Belotti and Atalanta’s Matteo Pessina upfront.

In defence too, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Alessandro Florenzi and Leonardo Spinazzola are rested for Rafael Toloi and Emerson Palmieri.

The other surprise could see Leonardo Bonucci benched in favour of Inter centre-back Alessandro Bastoni.

Italy are unbeaten in 29 matches, one shy of the all-time national record.

Italy (probable): G Donnarumma; Toloi, Acerbi, Bastoni, Emerson; Cristante, Jorginho, Verratti; Bernardeschi, Belotti, Pessina
