Italy international Marco Verratti is increasingly likely to join the Saudi Pro League, as he is left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad.

Their Ligue 1 campaign already kicked off last weekend with a 0-0 draw against FC Lorient and tomorrow they visit Toulouse.

Although Kylian Mbappé is welcomed back in after seemingly agreeing to extend his contract beyond the end of this season, there is still no room for Verratti.

Neymar completed his transfer to Al-Hilal and could soon be followed by Italy midfielder Verratti, who has been linked with both that club and Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.

Reports from France note that new coach Luis Enrique does not see the Italian as part of his plans and agent Rafaela Pimenta has been tasked with finding him a different club.

Now 30 years of age, Verratti first joined PSG from his hometown club Pescara in the summer of 2012 and only recently signed a contract extension to June 2026.

He has made 416 competitive appearances for the French side, scoring 11 goals, providing 61 assists and receiving six red cards.
