While Italy crushed the Czech Republic 4-0 last night, today those who didn’t play were used in a 1-0 defeat to the Under-20 side.
The Azzurri relished their final warm-up for Euro 2020 at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna, winning 4-0 with goals from Ciro Immobile, Nicolò Barella, Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Berardi.
Those who didn’t play still managed to get some minutes in their legs with this morning’s run-out against the Under-20 Italy side.
Surprisingly, the Azzurrini won 1-0 with Cangiano getting the only goal of the game, which had two halves at 25 minutes each.
It was the usual Roberto Mancini 4-3-3 formation, with Alessandro Bastoni in defence, Bryan Cristante, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Matteo Pessina in midfield, and a trident formed of Federico Chiesa, Andrea Belotti and Federico Bernardeschi.
It wasn’t just the Under-20 side, as they were bolstered by senior Azzurri Salvatore Sirigu, Rafael Toloi and Gianluca Raspadori.
In the second half, those three switched to the senior squad, while Alex Meret, Emerson Palmieri and Chiesa moved to the Under-20 line-up.
After the game, the Italy squad for Euro 2020 was allowed the day off and they’ll come back together at the Coverciano training ground on Sunday night.
