Italy lose injured Criscito

Domenico Criscito is out of Italy's final Euro 2012 qualifiers, while there are doubts over Giampaolo Pazzini and Federico Balzaretti.

Criscito is suffering with a groin problem and, after tests, it has been decided to send him back to Zenit St Petersburg.

Fellow left-back Balzaretti is also a doubt and unlikely to be fit enough to face Serbia on Friday. He could feature against Northern Ireland on Tuesday though.

It's the same situation for Inter striker Pazzini who picked up a problem in the Champions League last week – even if he played against Napoli on Saturday.

It's unclear whether boss Cesare Prandelli will replace Criscito in the squad or simply use Giorgio Chiellini at left-back in Belgrade.
