Moise Kean will replace the injured Ciro Immobile for the Nations League semifinals while Roberto Mancini warns Nicolò Zaniolo: ‘He should avoid certain gestures…’

The Roma midfielder was snubbed from the Azzurri squad for the Nations League Final Four.

The Azzurri will face Spain in the semi-finals on Wednesday and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the injured Ciro Immobile will be replaced by Juventus striker Moise Kean.

Kean is expected to start in the Turin Derby today.

Zaniolo was not included in the Azzurri squad, and Mancini said his choice was purely technical and had nothing to do with the midfielder’s rude gestures against Lazio fans last week.

However, he warned the Roma starlet that he should avoid similar reactions.

“Mine is a technical choice. It is not true that I did not call Zaniolo for that gesture in the derby of Rome,” Mancini said as quoted by Calciomercato.com.

“But he must be careful. Unfortunately, these mistakes are made when you are young, but a footballer who has a great future ahead should not make them.”

The Azzurri face Spain in the Nations League semis at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday.

The Finals are scheduled for Sunday, October 10.

The third-place Final will take place on Sunday at 14.00 UK time, while the Final kicks off at 19.45.

  1. Whilst I don’t like seeing anyone get injured and I wish Ciro a speedy recovery, this is a chance for Kean to impress and hopefully push Immobile out of that position as he simply is not the answer there for Italy.

  2. i believe kean is a more clinical striker than immobile. but kean has to show it on the field. time to show that potential kean. you not a baby anymore

  3. Finally…we get a crucial budding aspiring Striker like Moise Kean for a crucial vital Match against a strong Opponent like Spain…in a Build-Up towards World-Cup. Once we get Zaniolo too, settled in the Team, the Future seems great.

  4. One worse then other cannot understand this decision kean is useless and has and wil be. This kid is clumsy and is not good with ball on his feet. At least immobile was capocannoniere and scores for his club. So many other option then kean. Hope mancini will not regret this choice. Juve influence probably behind this move. Remember PSG gave him away for free .
