Italy international Jorginho rejects new Chelsea contract amid Juve, Milan and Barça interest

Italy international Jorginho has reportedly rejected a contract extension offer from Chelsea amid interest from Juventus, Milan and Barcelona.

The former Napoli and Verona midfielder sees his contract expire in June 2023, so the Blues have reportedly opened talks with his agent to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.

However, according to Metro.co.uk and the London Evening Standard, Jorginho rejected an opening contract extension offer which does not include a pay rise. The report claims that the 30-year-old wants an improved deal like the one signed by Cesar Azpilicueta a few months ago.

Juventus, Milan and Barcelona are all said to be interested in the Italy international, who will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club from January 1.

It remains to be seen if the Italian giants will manage to offer Jorginho higher wages than Chelsea, but a return to Serie A next summer remains on the card if ‘Jorgi’ fails to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
