Azzurri midfielder Jorginho has shared his thoughts on Instagram after Arsenal’s Round of 16 elimination from the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The former Napoli midfielder started in both legs of the tie against Sporting, with both games ending in draws in normal time.

After a 3-3 aggregate score, Arsenal were eventually knocked out on penalties falling to a 5-3 loss in the shoot-out. Their opponents, Sporting CP, will face Juventus in the quarter-finals.

In a post on Instagram on Friday, Jorginho expressed the need for Arsenal and their supporters to move on, with a number of hugely important league games coming up before the end of the season.

Accompanied by a picture of his teammates lining up before the second leg against Porto, Jorginho said: “We win together, we lose together and it’s time to stick together.

“Because we have to move forward, we have 11 finals to play and everyone have to look in the same direction. Thank you for the support.”

Arsenal are now out of all three cup competitions, but still lead the Premier League title race by a five-point margin.

With 11 games left to go before the end of the season and with no other commitments in any other competition, Arsenal are looking increasingly likely to win their first Premier League title since the 2003-04 season.
