Italy international Emerson Palmieri is on the move, as West Ham United have reportedly agreed a £15m (€17.7m) transfer with Chelsea.

The left-back is not part of coach Thomas Tuchel’s plans and had also been linked with a potential return to Serie A this summer for Lazio or Juventus.

However, he seems set to remain in the Premier League with a transfer to West Ham instead.

According to Sky Sports UK and Sky Sport Italia, the deal is worth £13m plus another £2m in add-ons.

The 28-year-old joined Chelsea from Roma in January 2018 for €20m and spent last season on loan at Olympique Lyonnais.

Emerson will be the third Italian at West Ham after Gianluca Scamacca and Angelo Ogbonna.

  1. West Ham is basically a dumping ground for a bunch of mediocre footballers. Kehrer, Emerson etc. Scamcca is going to warm the bench whilst they fight relegation this season. Moyes’ style of playing is already setting scamacca up to be yet another expensive failure.

  2. Thank goodness Emerson won’t be coming to Lazio, a poor player on big wages. Sarri might like him because he played for him before but we already did that with Vecino. West Ham generally have a poor record with Italians, a certain Legend notwithstanding, as Di Michele, Diamanti, Boriello, Nocerino and Zaza all disappeared there for a short time!
