It’s been an incredible month for Italian sport with Roberto Mancini’s Italy that become European champions on July 11 beating England on penalties at Wembley Stadium.
Less than a month after the Azzurri’s triumph, the Belpaese celebrated two legendary achievements at the Tokyo Olympics with Gianmarco Tamberi and Marcell Jacobs.
Tamberi took gold in the high jump, while Jacobs, born in Texas but, raised in Desenzano del Garda, Province of Brescia, is the new men’s Olympic 100m champion.

Italy coach and Giorgio Chiellini took to their official social media accounts to congratulate their compatriots on their incredible achievements.
“You are history, all these medals are amazing,” wrote Mancini posting a picture of the duo hugging each other.
“A hug halfway between myth and history. Congratulations guys” added Chiellini.
Nobody in the country will ever forget this astonishing summer for Italian sport.
