Italy flew to London today and held press conferences at Wembley, leaving one doubt for the Austria match, and creating even more confusion on Black Lives Matter protests.

The Euro 2020 Round of 16 kicks off at Wembley Stadium on Saturday at 20.00 UK time.

The Azzurri had their final training session at the Coverciano ground this morning before flying out in the late afternoon to Luton Airport.

They were not allowed to train at Wembley because the pitch is in poor condition and has to be protected ahead of a flurry of games.

Coach Roberto Mancini and captain Leonardo Bonucci held press conferences at the stadium, in which question marks remained over whether Marco Verratti or Manuel Locatelli will start.

Bonucci’s conference was dominated by discussions over whether Italy would join Austria in ‘taking the knee’ in an anti-racism protest before kick-off.

However, it emerged that Austria have not even requested a moment for the gesture from UEFA, so the debate is academic at least for this match.

Finally, the team took a late walk around their Maida Vale hotel, with Mancini and staff member Gianluca Vialli taking selfies with fans they met in the street.
