Italy-England Euro 2024 qualifier venue decided

The FIGC have decided which stadium will host the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying match between Italy and England.

The Azzurri and the Three Lions have been drawn into qualifying group C alongside Ukraine, North Macedonia and Malta. The top two teams progress to the tournament, which will be hosted by Germany in the summer of 2024. Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar will further motivate them to defend their European title at the tournament.

As reported by Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Bari’s Stadio San Nicola will not host the qualifier between Italy and England, despite the desires of mayor Antonio Decaro and Bari president Luigi De Laurentiis. The planned renovation work has forced the FIGC to look elsewhere for a venue.

The decision was therefore made to host the Euro 2024 qualifier between the two finalists of the last tournament at Napoli’s Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The match between Italy and England is scheduled to take place on March 23 at 19:45 UK time.
