Follow all the updates live as Italy’s betting scandal continues to expand and evolve.
Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli has been banned for seven months and broke silence on Instagram on Tuesday night, saying he will ‘speak soon.’
Italian media have published part of his interrogation with the Turin Prosecutor from this past September where he admitted gambling on football games and explained the involvement of Sandro Tonali.
The former Milan midfielder, now at Newcastle, also admitted placing bets on football matches but, contrary to Fagioli, he appears to have gambled on Milan games while under contract with the Rossoneri. Therefore, he risks a longer ban than Fagioli.
The Turin and FIGC Prosecutors will soon hear Nicolò Zaniolo too, but the Aston Villa attacker insists he has never gambled on football and only played poker and blackjack.
In the meantime, Fabrizio Corona has named three more players allegedly involved in the scandal, but none is currently under investigation.
