Video: Italy begin training ahead of Belgium and Israel Nations League matches

The work is underway at Coverciano and the Italy players have already completed their first training session as Luciano Spalletti and his staff prepare for upcoming Nations League matches against Belgium and Israel later this week.

The CT selected his 23-man squad at the end of last week, and the players were straight to work at the federation’s headquarters on Monday.

The Italy players began Monday’s training session with a game of ‘handball’ in the warm-up, before moving onto some small-sided games in tight spaces and further work on their attacking runs and movements.

Spalletti has also given his first press conference of October’s training camp, explaining why he gave call-ups to Daniel Maldini and Niccolo Pisilli, while also explaining Federico Chiesa’s absence, and the choice to select Matteo Gabbia

The Azzurri players will be back in for a full training session on Tuesday, before putting in the final preparation work for Thursday’s game against Belgium at the Stadio Olimpico.
